Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp whisky

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, mix the sugar and water over medium heat.

  2. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture comes to a boil.

  3. Continue cooking without stirring until the mixture turns a deep amber color, about 8-10 minutes.

  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and carefully pour in the cream. Be cautious as it may bubble up.

  5. Whisk in the butter and whisky until smooth and well combined.

  6. Allow the sauce to cool slightly before serving.
