How To Make Thanksgiving Corn Fritters

Delicious crispy fritters made with corn and spices, perfect for Thanksgiving dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of cornmeal
  • 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp of sugar
  • 1 tsp of baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1/4 tsp of black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup of corn kernels (fresh or canned)
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.

  2. In another bowl, beat the egg and mix in the milk.

  3. Add the egg mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.

  4. Fold in the corn kernels and green onions.

  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.

  6. Using a spoon, drop the batter into the oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.

  7. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate before serving.
