How To Make Beer Cheese Soup Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup beer
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook for 5 minutes or until softened.

  2. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Slowly pour in the chicken broth and beer while whisking constantly.

  3. Bring the soup to a simmer and let cook for 10 minutes.

  4. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and heavy cream until melted and combined.

  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
