How To Make Orange Blossom Easter Bread Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp instant yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup orange blossom water
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup raisins

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.

  2. Add warm milk, orange juice, orange blossom water, orange zest, softened butter, and beaten egg to the dry ingredients.

  3. Mix until a dough forms, then knead for 10-15 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover and allow to rise for 1 hour.

  5. Punch down the dough, add in raisins, and shape into a round loaf.

  6. Place the loaf on a lined baking sheet, cover and allow to rise for another hour.

  7. Preheat oven to 350°F and bake for 30 minutes until golden brown.

  8. Remove from oven and allow to cool before slicing.
