Cooking: 20 minutes
Total: 35 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and grated
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Place the grated potatoes in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out any excess moisture.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the grated potatoes, flour, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.

  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.

  4. Take 1/4 cup of the potato mixture and press it firmly into a patty shape. Place it in the hot skillet.

  5. Repeat with the remaining potato mixture, making sure to leave enough space between each rösti in the skillet.

  6. Cook the rösti for about 6-8 minutes on each side, until golden brown and crispy.

  7. Transfer the cooked rösti to a paper towel-lined plate to remove any excess oil.

  8. Serve the potato rösti hot, with your choice of toppings or as a side dish.
