Ingredients

  • 2 medium turnips, peeled and sliced into matchsticks
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup of white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
  • 2 garlic cloves, sliced
  • 1 tsp of kosher salt

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, white vinegar, sugar, garlic and kosher salt. Bring to a boil over high heat.

  2. Add the sliced turnips to the pot and let the mixture come to a boil again.

  3. Reduce heat to a simmer and let the turnips cook for 2-3 minutes.

  4. Remove from heat and let cool completely.

  5. Transfer the turnips and the pickling liquid to a glass jar or container with a lid.

  6. Seal the jar or container and refrigerate for 2-3 days before serving.
