How To Make Habanero Pepper Cornbread Recipe

A spicy twist on the classic cornbread recipe, using habanero peppers to add some heat!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 habanero peppers, seeded and finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F and grease a baking dish.

  2. In a large bowl, mix together cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, and eggs.

  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix well.

  5. Stir in chopped habanero peppers.

  6. Pour mixture into greased baking dish and bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.

  7. Serve hot with butter.
