Ingredients
- 2 pounds beef chuck, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 onions, thinly sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups Belgian beer
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 bay leaves
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
- Crusty bread, for serving
Instructions

In a large bowl, toss the beef with flour, salt, and pepper until coated.

Heat the vegetable oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the beef cubes in batches and brown on all sides. Remove from the pan and set aside.

In the same pan, add the onions and garlic. Cook until softened and lightly browned.

Return the beef to the pan and pour in the beer and beef broth. Stir in the brown sugar, Dijon mustard, bay leaves, salt, and pepper.

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 2 to 3 hours, or until the beef is tender.

Remove the bay leaves and garnish with fresh parsley.
