Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lbs. stew meat, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 carrots, sliced
  • 3 celery ribs, sliced
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a slow cooker, combine the beef, broth, onion, garlic, carrots, celery, bay leaves, thyme, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.

  2. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.

  3. In a small bowl, mix the flour and butter to form a paste. Stir this mixture into the stew to thicken it.

  4. Cook for another 30 minutes on high.

  5. Discard bay leaves and serve garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
