How To Make Instant Pot Split Pea Soup Recipe

Hearty and comforting split pea soup made in the Instant Pot for a quick and easy meal.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups carrots, chopped
  • 2 cups dried split peas, rinsed
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: ham bone or ham hock, chopped ham

Instructions

  1. Press “SAUTE” on Instant Pot and heat olive oil.

  2. Add onion and garlic, cook until softened.

  3. Add carrots, split peas, and broth.

  4. Add ham bone or ham hock if using.

  5. Close lid, set valve to “SEALING”, and press “MANUAL” for 25 minutes.

  6. Once done, let pressure naturally release for 10 minutes, then quick release remaining pressure.

  7. Remove ham bone or hock and discard.

  8. Use an immersion blender to blend soup until desired consistency is reached.

  9. Serve hot with optional chopped ham on top.
