Cooking: 20 minutes
Total: 30 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried split peas, rinsed
  • 1 pound ham, diced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place the rinsed split peas, diced ham, onion, carrots, celery, chicken broth, water, dried thyme, salt, and pepper into the Instant Pot.

  2. Close the lid and set the valve to sealing. Select the soup/broth function and set the timer to 20 minutes.

  3. Once the cooking cycle is complete, allow the pressure to release naturally for about 10 minutes, then carefully perform a quick release.

  4. Open the lid and stir the soup. If desired, use an immersion blender to blend some of the soup for a creamier consistency.

  5. Serve hot and enjoy!
