Ingredients

  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lb sauerkraut, drained and rinsed
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a slow cooker, combine the sliced sausage, onion, garlic, sauerkraut, brown sugar, caraway seeds, chicken broth, salt, and pepper.

  2. Cover and cook on low heat for 4 hours or until the sausage is cooked through and the flavors have melded together.

  3. Serve hot with crusty bread or mashed potatoes.
