How To Make Slow Cooker Bread Recipe

Hot stews and pot roasts are just some of the deletcable meals you get out of a slow cooker. It takes a bit of patience but it’s worth every meat-melting bite. You’ll enjoy the cooking as well as the eating with these slow cooker recipes.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 ½ cups warm water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.

  2. In a separate small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  3. Pour the yeast mixture and olive oil into the flour mixture and stir until a sticky dough forms.

  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the dough rise for 2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.

  5. After the dough has risen, lightly flour a clean surface and turn the dough out onto it. Knead the dough for a few minutes until it becomes smooth.

  6. Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it in the slow cooker.

  7. Cover the slow cooker and cook the bread on high for 2 hours, or on low for 4 hours, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

  8. Once cooked, carefully remove the bread from the slow cooker and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
