How To Make Dr. Pepper Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

These slow cooked pulled pork are extra tender and tasty, making them the perfect dinner meal! They’re cooked in Dr. Pepper for a richer flavor.

Total: 4 hours 5 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 5lbspork butt,or pork shoulder roast
  • salt
  • pepper
  • garlic powder
  • 1onion,sliced, optional
  • Dr. Pepper,1 can
  • ¾cupbarbecue sauce,or to taste
  • rolls,for serving
  • coleslaw,for serving

Instructions

  1. Place the onion in the bottom of the slow cooker.

  2. Rub the outside of the roast with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

  3. Pour the Dr. Pepper over the pork, then cook on High for 4 to 5 hours or on Low for 7 to 8 hours.

  4. Take out the pork from the slow cooker.

  5. Using 2 forks, shred the pork, then place them back in the juices.

  6. Add the barbecue sauce to taste.

  7. Allow to cook an additional 30 to 60 minutes, if desired.

  8. Serve on crusty rolls with coleslaw, and enjoy!
