Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 red chili, sliced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

  2. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the hot oil and stir-fry for 1 minute.

  3. Add the prawns to the skillet and cook until they turn pink, about 3-4 minutes.

  4. Stir in the sliced green onions and red chili. Cook for another minute.

  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, fish sauce, honey, and lime juice.

  6. Pour the sauce over the prawns and vegetables in the skillet. Stir to coat everything evenly.

  7. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until the sauce has thickened slightly.

  8. Remove from heat and serve the Thai-style prawns over steamed rice or noodles.

  9. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
