How To Make Spiced Smoked Haddock Fish Cakes

Ingredients
- 500g smoked haddock fillets, cooked and flaked
- 500g of potatoes, peeled and boiled
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 red chili, deseeded and finely chopped
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg, beaten
- 4 tbsp plain flour
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions

In a large bowl, combine the flaked haddock, boiled potatoes, onion, garlic, chili, cumin, coriander, salt, and pepper.

Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly distributed.

Shape the mixture into small fish cakes and place them on a baking sheet.

Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.

Dip each fish cake into the beaten egg, then coat it with flour.

Fry the fish cakes in the hot oil until golden brown on each side, about 3-4 minutes per side.

Remove from the pan and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil.

Serve the spiced smoked haddock fish cakes hot with a side of tartar sauce or a squeeze of lemon juice.
