How To Make Smoked Haddock Rarebit Recipe

Ingredients
- 4 smoked haddock fillets
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 4 slices bread
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.

Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth. Cook for 2-3 minutes until thickened, stirring constantly.

Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and grated cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper.

Place the smoked haddock fillets in a baking dish and pour the cheese sauce over the top. Make sure all fillets are well coated.

Toast the bread slices until crispy and golden.

Place a slice of toasted bread on top of each haddock fillet, pressing down gently to secure.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the haddock is cooked through and the cheese topping is golden and bubbly.
