How To Make Indian Fish Curry

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 500g fish fillets, cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 2 green chilies, slit
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro leaves for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add chopped onions. Saute until golden brown.

  2. Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for a minute.

  3. Add tomato puree and cook until oil separates.

  4. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt. Cook for 2 minutes.

  5. Add coconut milk and bring it to a boil.

  6. Gently add fish pieces and simmer for 10-12 minutes or until cooked.

  7. Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with fresh cilantro leaves.

  8. Serve hot with steamed rice or Indian bread.
