How To Make Grilled Herrings with Mustard & Basil Dressing

Ingredients
- 4 fresh herrings
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions

Preheat grill to medium-high heat.

In a small bowl, whisk together Dijon mustard, honey, basil, olive oil, salt, and pepper.

Clean herrings by removing scales and guts, then rinse under cold water. Pat dry with paper towels.

Brush both sides of the herrings with the mustard and basil dressing.

Grill herrings for about 4-5 minutes on each side until cooked through and slightly charred.

Remove herrings from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.

Serve grilled herrings with extra dressing on the side.
