Ingredients

  • 4 fish fillets (such as cod or haddock)
  • 200g prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (such as broccoli, carrots, and peas)
  • 1 cup grated cheese
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).

  2. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the mixed vegetables until tender. Drain and set aside.

  3. In a separate pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk until smooth. Cook for 1 minute.

  4. Gradually add the milk while whisking constantly. Cook until the sauce thickens and comes to a simmer.

  5. Stir in the garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat.

  6. Arrange the fish fillets and prawns in a baking dish. Sprinkle the cooked vegetables evenly over the fish.

  7. Pour the sauce over the fish and vegetables.

  8. In a small bowl, mix the grated cheese and breadcrumbs. Sprinkle this mixture over the sauce.

  9. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and the cheese topping is golden and bubbly.

  10. Serve hot and enjoy!
