How To Make True Bangers and Mash with Onion Gravy

Ingredients
- 8 pork sausages
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef or vegetable broth
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

Place the sausages on a baking sheet and cook in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through.

While the sausages are cooking, place the chopped potatoes in a large pot of salted water. Bring to a boil and cook until tender, about 15 minutes.

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash them with the butter and milk until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper.

In a separate pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes.

Sprinkle flour over the onions and stir well to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes.

Slowly pour in the broth, stirring constantly. Bring to a simmer and cook until the gravy thickens, about 5 minutes.

Serve the cooked sausages on top of the mashed potatoes and pour the onion gravy over them.
