How To Make Chicken a la King Recipe

Ingredients
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 1/2 cup frozen peas
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked rice or noodles, for serving
Instructions

In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, and garlic. Cook until vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.

Sprinkle flour over the vegetables and stir until well coated. Cook for 1 minute.

Gradually whisk in chicken broth and milk. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.

Stir in dried thyme, paprika, cooked chicken, and frozen peas. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until heated through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve hot over cooked rice or noodles.
