Crockpot Pork Barbecue Recipe

An easy pork barbecue recipe without firing up the grill! This wonderful crockpot dish is spearheaded by a tender and moist pork butt with its fat rendered away to simmer along with cola and barbecue sauce.

Ingredients

  • 4 lb. boneless pork butt , or shoulder
  • 1 cup cola
  • 1 bottle barbecue sauce

Instructions

  1. Trim all possible fat from roast.
  2. Place in crockpot, pour cola over, cover and cook on low for 10-12 hours or until pork can be easily shredded.
  3. Remove pork from pot, shred in a bowl, removing all possible fat.
  4. You can use two forks or your fingers (let cool slightly).
  5. Discard liquid.
  6. Return pork to pot (you don't have to wash it).
  7. Add barbecue sauce to taste and mix.
  8. Continue to cook on low for 5-6 hours, adding more barbecue sauce if needed.
  9. Serve as sandwiches in buns.
  10. This freezes perfectly.
