Ingredients

  • 4 whole wheat pitta bread
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup sliced bell peppers
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup sliced olives
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Place the pitta bread on a baking sheet and spread tomato sauce evenly on each pitta.

  3. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and your desired toppings such as bell peppers, mushrooms, olives, and red onion.

  4. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  5. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh basil.

  6. Cut into slices and serve hot.
