Ingredients

  • 12 oz pasta
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  2. Steam the broccoli florets until tender. Set aside.

  3. In a food processor, combine the basil, parmesan cheese, pine nuts, garlic, salt, and pepper. Pulse until well combined.

  4. Slowly drizzle in the olive oil while the food processor is running until a smooth pesto sauce forms.

  5. In a large pan, heat some olive oil and sauté the cooked broccoli for a few minutes.

  6. Add the cooked pasta and pesto sauce to the pan with the broccoli. Toss until everything is evenly coated and heated through.

  7. Serve hot and garnish with extra parmesan cheese, if desired.
