How To Make Instant Pot Pasta with Italian Sausage Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Italian sausage, casing removed
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 8 oz pasta
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving
  • Fresh basil, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Set your Instant Pot to sauté mode and add the Italian sausage, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Once browned, remove the sausage from the pot and set aside.

  2. Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and diced bell pepper to the pot. Sauté until the vegetables are softened.

  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chicken broth, dried basil, dried oregano, and red pepper flakes (if using). Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  4. Add the cooked sausage back to the pot and give everything a good stir. Break the pasta in half and sprinkle it over the sausage mixture, making sure it’s submerged in the liquid.

  5. Close the Instant Pot lid and set it to manual high pressure for 5 minutes. Once the timer goes off, perform a quick release of the pressure.

  6. Open the lid and give the pasta a stir. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.
