How To Make Italian Sausage Polpettina & Macaroni Bake

Ingredients
- 8 oz macaroni
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 1/2 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.

Cook the macaroni according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.

In a skillet, cook the Italian sausage over medium heat until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, sauté the onion and garlic until softened.

In a large bowl, combine the cooked sausage, sautéed onion and garlic, marinara sauce, breadcrumbs, parsley, salt, and pepper.

Mix well and form small meatballs from the mixture.

Place the meatballs in the prepared baking dish and pour the marinara sauce over them.

Sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
