Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine cherries, sugar, water, and cardamom.

  2. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes until cherries are tender and the sauce is thickened.

  4. Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice.

  5. Serve warm or chilled.
