- 2 cups cherries, pitted
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Instructions

In a medium saucepan, combine the cherries, sugar, and water. Stir well.

Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer.

Cook the cherry mixture for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cherries have softened and released their juices.
