How To Make Anise and Pistachio Biscuits

Crispy and fragrant anise-flavored biscuits filled with crunchy pistachios.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp anise seeds
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 3 tbsp pistachios, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a bowl, sift together flour, cornstarch, sugar, anise seeds, and baking powder.

  3. Add butter and egg yolk, and mix until the dough comes together.

  4. Add chopped pistachios and mix well.

  5. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and shape each one into a cylinder.

  6. Place the cylinders on the baking sheet, leaving some space in between.

  7. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.

  8. Let cool on a wire rack and serve.
