How To Make Anise and Almond Cake Recipe

Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground anise
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and ground anise.

In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the almond extract.

Add the dry ingredients and milk, alternating each and beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.

Fold in the sliced almonds.

Pour the batter into a greased 9-inch cake pan and bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Let the cake cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
