How To Make Yvonne’s Bread Pudding

A classic dessert with a golden crust and soft, custardy interior.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 4 cups of cubed stale bread
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp of ground nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp of butter, melted
  • Whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9 inch baking dish.

  2. Place the cubed bread in the baking dish.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Pour mixture over the bread.

  4. Drizzle melted butter over the top of the bread mixture.

  5. Bake for 45 minutes, or until golden brown and set in the center.

  6. Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
