How To Make Wild Mushroom Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 lb mixed wild mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 shallot, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup vegetable broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the shallot and garlic and cook until fragrant, about 2 minutes.

  2. Add the mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they release their liquid and become tender, about 5 minutes.

  3. Pour in the vegetable broth and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for 5 minutes to reduce slightly.

  4. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  5. Simmer the sauce for another 5 minutes to thicken slightly. Remove from heat.

  6. Serve the wild mushroom sauce over pasta, steak, or roasted vegetables. Garnish with fresh parsley.
