Ingredients

  • 4 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 2 clementines, peeled and segmented
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the sliced apples, clementines, cinnamon stick, cloves, water, and sugar.

  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. Remove from heat and let the syrup cool slightly.

  4. Using a fine-mesh strainer, strain the syrup into a clean container, discarding the solids.

  5. Serve the spiced apple syrup warm drizzled over pancakes, waffles, or ice cream.
