How To Make Chana Masala

Ingredients
- 2 cups chickpeas, soaked overnight and boiled
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, pureed
- 2 green chilies, sliced
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions

Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add onions and sauté until golden brown.

Add ginger, garlic, and green chilies. Cook for a minute.

Add tomato puree and cook until oil separates.

Add all the spices – coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook for 2 minutes.

Add boiled chickpeas and mix well. Add water if needed to adjust the consistency.

Cover and simmer for 15 minutes on low heat, allowing the flavors to blend.

Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or roti. Serve with lemon wedges for added tanginess.
