How To Make Indian Tofu Chana Masala Recipe
A protein-rich vegan dish made with tofu and chickpeas cooked in flavorful spices.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 block of firm tofu, diced
- 1 can of chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp oil
- Chopped coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions

Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.

Add onions, garlic, and ginger. Saute until onions are translucent.

Add tomatoes, salt, and all the spices. Saute for a couple of minutes until tomatoes are soft and mushy.

Add a splash of water and mix well.

Add tofu and chickpeas. Mix gently and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes until the sauce thickens.

Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or naan.
