Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 3/4 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup cherry preserves
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate shavings

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, whisk together the cocoa powder, sugar, cornstarch, and salt.

  2. Gradually whisk in the milk and heavy cream until smooth.

  3. Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and comes to a boil.

  4. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

  5. Pour half of the chocolate pudding into serving glasses or bowls.

  6. Top with a layer of cherry preserves, then add the remaining chocolate pudding on top.

  7. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to set.

  8. Just before serving, top with a dollop of whipped cream and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings.

  9. Serve chilled.
