How To Make Shimmering Forest Cake

- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
- Edible shimmer dust (green and gold)
- Edible flowers and berries for decoration

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

In a separate large bowl, beat the sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with buttermilk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
