How To Make Vegan Mincemeat Recipe

Turning vegan may look challenging for some, especially for those who can’t turn their eyes away from meat. But they just haven’t found these sumptuous vegan recipes that even non-vegans will surely enjoy!

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of raisins
  • 1 cup of currants
  • 1 cup of chopped apples
  • 1 cup of mixed candied peel
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup of fresh orange juice
  • 1/4 cup of brandy
  • 1/4 cup of vegetable suet
  • 1 tsp of ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp of ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp of ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp of salt

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the raisins, currants, chopped apples, and mixed candied peel.

  2. Add the brown sugar, orange juice, brandy, vegetable suet, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, ground cloves, and salt. Stir well to combine.

  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it sit at room temperature for at least 2 hours, or overnight for the best flavor.

  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  5. Transfer the mincemeat mixture to a baking dish and smooth it out evenly.

  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes or until the mixture is bubbly and the apples are tender.

  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely before using in recipes or storing in sterilized jars.
