How To Make Vegan Air Fryer Falafel Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cans of chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup flour (gluten-free, if needed)
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Place chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, paprika, cayenne pepper, and salt in a food processor. Pulse until well combined but still slightly chunky.

  2. Add flour to the chickpea mixture and pulse again to combine.

  3. Using your hands, shape the mixture into 1 1/2-inch balls.

  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F.

  5. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and place the falafel balls in a single layer.

  6. Spray the falafel with cooking spray. Cook for 10 minutes, flip, and cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until crispy and golden brown.

  7. Serve with tahini sauce and pita bread.
