Ingredients

  • 4 large oranges, peeled and segmented
  • 1 vanilla bean, split and scraped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, combine the oranges, vanilla bean and seeds, sugar, and water.

  2. Cook over medium-high heat until the mixture comes to a boil.

  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 45-50 minutes, or until the mixture has thickened and the oranges have broken down.

  4. Remove the vanilla bean pod and transfer the marmalade to a jar or container.

  5. Allow to cool completely before serving or storing in the refrigerator.
