How To Make Sticky Toffee Fig Rolls

These sticky toffee fig rolls are a delicious sweet treat with a gooey toffee filling and a soft, flaky pastry.

Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking: 25 minutes
Total: 40 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 8 dried figs
  • 1/3 cup of brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp of butter
  • 1/4 cup of heavy cream
  • 1/4 tsp of vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut it into 8 equal rectangles.

  3. In a small saucepan, combine the dried figs, brown sugar, butter, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt. Cook over medium heat until the mixture thickens and the figs soften, about 5-7 minutes.

  4. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.

  5. Place a spoonful of the fig mixture onto one end of each puff pastry rectangle.

  6. Roll up the pastry tightly, starting from the end with the fig filling.

  7. Place the rolls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the rolls are golden and crispy.

  9. Remove from the oven and let them cool before serving.
