How To Make Sticky Toffee Banana Bread
A moist and indulgent banana bread with sticky toffee sauce.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup buttermilk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
- Sticky Toffee Sauce:
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
-
In a mixing bowl, mash the bananas and add the brown sugar, melted butter, buttermilk, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
-
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chopped walnuts.
-
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
-
While the bread is baking, make the sticky toffee sauce. In a small saucepan, melt the brown sugar and butter over medium heat. Stir in the heavy cream and simmer for 3-4 minutes until thickened.
-
Once the banana bread is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Drizzle the warm sticky toffee sauce over the bread.
-
Slice and serve the sticky toffee banana bread. Enjoy!
