How To Make Best Ever Roast Duck Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 whole duck (about 4-5 pounds)
  • 2 tablespoons of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons of Chinese five spice powder
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 inch of ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).

  2. Rinse the duck inside and out, then pat dry with paper towels.

  3. In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, and five spice powder.

  4. Rub the mixture all over the duck, including the cavity.

  5. Place the duck on a rack in a roasting pan, breast-side up.

  6. Roast the duck in the preheated oven for 1 hour.

  7. While the duck is roasting, mix together the minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, honey, and rice vinegar in a small bowl.

  8. After 1 hour, remove the duck from the oven and brush the garlic-ginger mixture all over the duck.

  9. Return the duck to the oven and continue roasting for another hour, or until the skin is crispy and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

  10. Take the duck out of the oven and let it rest for about 15 minutes before carving.

  11. Serve the roasted duck with steamed rice or your favorite side dishes.
