How To Make Dr Pepper Beef Stir-Fry

This stir-fry is sweet and savory with a hint of Dr Pepper flavor.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak, sliced thinly
  • 1/2 red onion, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1/2 cup Dr Pepper
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together Dr Pepper, soy sauce, cornstarch, garlic, ginger and red pepper flakes. Set aside.

  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat vegetable oil over high heat. Add the sliced steak and season with a bit of salt and pepper. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, until browned and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

  3. In the same skillet, add the onion and bell pepper and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, until slightly softened.

  4. Add the Dr Pepper sauce to the skillet with the vegetables, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, and add the cooked steak back to the pan.

  5. Stir everything together until evenly coated in the sauce, and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the sauce has thickened.

  6. Serve hot with rice or noodles.
