Crispy beer-battered pollock bites, perfect as an appetizer or snack.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 lb pollock fillets, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup beer
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
-
Preheat vegetable oil in a large pot or deep fryer to 375°F (190°C).
-
In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.
-
Slowly pour in the beer while whisking until a smooth batter forms.
-
Dip the pollock pieces into the batter, allowing any excess batter to drip off.
-
Fry the battered pollock in the preheated oil for about 4-5 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
-
Remove the fried pollock bites from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
-
Serve hot with tartar sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
