A delicious and comforting dessert perfect for the autumn season.

Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking: 30 minutes
Total: 45 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 4 cups of sliced apples
  • 1/2 cup of rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup of chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup of cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Toss to evenly coat the apples.

  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the oats, flour, brown sugar, chopped pecans, and cold cubed butter. Use your fingers or a fork to cut the butter into the dry ingredients until it resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. Pour the apple mixture into a greased baking dish and spread it out evenly.

  5. Sprinkle the crumble mixture over the top of the apples, covering them completely.

  6. Bake for 30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the apples are tender.

  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

  8. Serve the autumn crunchy crumble warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
