How To Make Chickpea Fish Cakes Recipe

These tasty patties are made with chickpeas, zucchini, and spices, and served with a side of tartar sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 can chickpeas (15 oz), drained and rinsed
  • 1 small zucchini, grated
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Tartar sauce, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chickpeas, grated zucchini, egg, breadcrumbs, parsley, paprika, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

  2. Using a spoon or your hands, form the mixture into 8 to 10 patties.

  3. Heat the olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.

  4. Add the patties to the skillet and cook for 3 to 4 minutes on each side, until golden brown and crispy.

  5. Serve the chickpea fish cakes with a dollop of tartar sauce on top.
