How To Make Cajun Spiced Catfish and Coleslaw

A flavorful and crispy catfish with a tangy and crunchy coleslaw.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 4 catfish fillets
  • 1 tbsp of Cajun seasoning
  • ½ cup of cornmeal
  • ½ cup of flour
  • 1 tsp of garlic powder
  • 1 tsp of onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • 4 cups of coleslaw mix
  • ½ cup of mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp of honey
  • 1 tsp of Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the cornmeal, flour, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

  2. Dip the catfish fillets in the mixture and make sure they are coated evenly.

  3. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat and fry the catfish fillets for 4-5 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and crispy.

  4. In another bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, honey, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper.

  5. Add the coleslaw mix and mix it with the dressing.

  6. Serve the Cajun spiced catfish with a side of coleslaw.
