How To Make Catfish Jambalaya Recipe

A spicy, flavorful one-pan rice dish with catfish, sausage, and vegetables cooked in a tomato-based sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb catfish fillets, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup long grain rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. Add onion, bell pepper, and celery. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

  3. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

  4. Add sliced sausage and cook until browned.

  5. Stir in catfish, diced tomatoes (with juice), rice, chicken broth, Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.

  6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer covered for 20-25 minutes until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.

  7. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
